While I do like the international symbol for transgender, seeing it pop up every time I commented was driving me up the wall.

Now I'm just showing my fandom roots.

I liked the colours of the transgender icon, but the Willow icon you just used to comment is absolutely adorable.

You are a BTVS fan, then, I take it? <Willow3

Just a bit!

I'm going to reupload the TG icon soon, just want to get away from it for awhile.

She's my favourite character from the series. I love her and Tara.

Yeah, I can understand that. I usually use my moth everywhere I go, and got so fed-up with the thing that I dyed it a while ago.

Willow and Tara are my favorite too.

And the fact that I came out as lesbian while obsessing over Buffy during the fifth season may have something to do with it. I identified a lot with Willow.

To be honest, I couldn't get used to Tara at all at first, but I really fell in love with her in later series. I like how real her and Willow's relationship feels in the series.
My second favourite character is probably Spike.

The first full episode I saw of Buffy was "Buffy vs. Dracula." I hadn't seen the earlier seasons until FX (I think) ran the entire series. So, by the time I saw Tara's introduction, I already liked her - but I did feel her character wasn't used well during S4.

Spike's a load of fun. I came >< this close to picking up a "Randy Giles?!?" icon. He may be love's bitch, but he's man enough to admit it - and his whole character arc in Buffy lived up to that sentence. Only a vampire who was love's bitch could try to reclaim his soul.

I know nothing about fandom but am glad to see more of you over here, whatever you've got :D

Science fiction/fantasy fandom. :)

And yeah, I'm enjoying the LJ these days.

Could you tell me, in *really* simple (luddite-friendly) terms, how to resize a pic (in GIMP) to make it allowable to upload as a LJ icon?

Hmm, I've never used GIMP.

I did, however, find this page (http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/08/13/how-to-resize-images-using-the-gimp/), which shows how to resize images with GIMP. If that's not clear, let me know and I'll try to translate.

LJ icons should no more than 100 pixels x 100 pixels, and no larger than 40 kb.

You can upload .jpg, .gif, and .png.
